During this inspiring five-day retreat, experience the harmony of mandala creation, nature’s abundance, and nourishing meals, woven together into a seamless journey.
Permaculture specialist Frédérique Peutz and creative facilitator Marcella van Bruggen of Cella-Art will guide you into a world of creativity and tranquillity. While immersed in the natural beauty around you, create mandalas that reflect the cycles of life and interconnectedness. Enjoy nourishing, carefully prepared, plant-based meals that combine culinary delights with a peaceful environment that invites reflection and mindfulness.
About the Accommodation
You will spend the four nights in one of the rooms here at the Moulin Scalagrand, next to the medieval village of Villeréal in the Lot et Garonne department. The rooms are cosy and comfortable in a peaceful atmosphere. Towels, bed linen and cleaning are included, so all you have to do is make your bed!

Creative workshops
- Mandala workshops: Over four sessions, learn various mandala-making techniques from Marcella, using materials like colored pencils, paints, and natural elements. A wonderful opportunity to center yourself and experience a sense of wholeness.
- Permaculture intro day: Discover the basics of permaculture with Frédérique. Learn about sustainability, go wild foraging, and participate in a cooking workshop. Together, create a nature-inspired mandala reflecting the surroundings.
Well-being and Mindfulness
Each day begins with a gentle morning ritual, such as light yoga, breathing exercises, or (walking) meditations to prepare body and mind for a creative day ahead.
Optional revitalizing massages are available for deeper relaxation.
Who is this for?
This midweek retreat offers a unique combination of creativity, nature immersion, and culinary enrichment, ideal for anyone seeking relaxation and the chance to explore the beauty and flavors of nature. No experience is necessary—everyone is welcome! Please note that due to the unique accommodation and natural environment, this retreat may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility.

Program

Monday, April 14: Arrival from 4:00 PM, settle into your room. Introduction to the group and an overview of permaculture and mandalas. Group dinner and relaxation.
Tuesday, April 15: Morning ritual, breakfast, followed by the first mandala workshop. Lunch, second mandala workshop in the afternoon. Free time for relaxing or exploring. Group dinner and an evening activity.
Wednesday, April 16: Morning ritual, breakfast, wild foraging, and plant identification in the permaculture garden. Cooking workshop with foraged ingredients, followed by lunch. Later, we’ll create a collective nature mandala. Evening dinner and relaxation.
Thursday, April 17: Morning ritual, breakfast, mandala workshop, lunch, and final mandala workshop in the afternoon. Free time for reflection or a walk, dinner, and an evening activity.
-Friday, April 18: Morning ritual, breakfast, group reflection, and experience sharing. Packing up and departure around 11:00 AM.
Cost
This midweek retreat is €400 per person, including four nights in a shared double room, full board, and all scheduled activities and materials.
What’s Not Included?
- Transportation to the location.
- Optional airport transfer.

Practical Information
- Accessibility: Le Moulin Scalagrand is approximately 1,050 km from Utrecht. Accessible by car, with public transport options available. The nearest airport is Bergerac, with direct flights from Rotterdam via Transavia.
- Cancellation Policy: This retreat will proceed with a minimum of 8 participants. In case of insufficient bookings, all fees will be fully refunded. For flexible cancellation policies, please feel free to ask.
